Flagship is looking forward to celebrating its first Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (MLPW) – taking place April 24-30, 2022.
Also known as Lab Week, MLPW presents a unique opportunity to increase public understanding of and appreciation for laboratory personnel.
Now in its 47th year, the event is sponsored by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) and coordinated by 17 national clinical laboratory associations.
This year, Lab Week will honor laboratory professionals for “Giving the Gift of Health.” We hope you’ll join us in applauding their efforts to improve public health and patient care, drive innovation, and foster health equity.
With public demand for quality health care and professional accountability ever growing, organizations representing lab workers have a responsibility to showcase their valuable contributions.
ASCLS recommends several ways to raise awareness for laboratory science and honor practitioners this Lab Week, including:
7th Annual Lab Week Run
Sponsored by the ASCLS Ascending Professionals and Developing Professionals Forums, the 2022 Lab Week Run will raise money to support education and travel grants. Compete in the virtual 5K at your convenience, and don’t forget to share a photo!
Lab Week Live
Lab workers are also invited to attend Lab Week Live – a celebration of MLPW hosted by ASCLS on Wednesday, April 27. Reserve a conference room and invite your workers to join as their schedules allow. Events will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. EDT.
Off the Bench
The Off the Bench podcast series by ASCLS explores a range of subjects, from the history of laboratory science to leadership in the lab. Lab Week is the perfect time to enjoy an episode and share your feedback in the Off the Bench Facebook Group.
